Bitcoin governance models defy typical comparisons, Jameson Lopp argues — Bitcoin governance seen as uniquely complex

Jameson Lopp, board member at Casa, states that describing Bitcoin governance remains extremely difficult, noting there is little to compare it to in traditional systems.

He describes Bitcoin as existing in a state of anarchy, with its closest similarities being open source projects or religions, but contends that Bitcoin's governance involves more complex dynamics among a greater diversity of participants. Lopp adds that August will offer a key learning experience for many in the Bitcoin community.
