James Stanley, senior strategist at DailyFX, highlights that gold has risen above $4100 to start the week. A period of indecision on Friday at support preceded a strong close, which Stanley suggests could indicate the formation of a local bottom.
Key resistance levels are identified at 4134, 4166, and 4200, while support is noted at 4084 for the short term, with further levels at 4044 and 4021.
Stanley previously noted that gold held its 4k support level as bulls defended the benchmark figure in a recent analysis. In another report, he wrote that the threat of intervention was required to prevent deeper declines in the Japanese yen, despite concerns about its valuation earlier this year. These observations reflect Stanley's focus on key technical thresholds and policy influence across markets.
