DTCC launches service for tokenizing securities

The DTCC launched its Tokenization Service today, making 34 securities available to tokenize at launch. Jacquelyn Melinek reported that DTCC did not publicly disclose which securities were included, stating only that they would be drawn from select large-cap Russell 1000 stocks, select ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. Each token issued under the service is backed 1:1 by a security.

Jacquelyn Melinek has previously covered traditional financial firms embracing digital assets. She reported on Visa’s global rollout of USDC-based payouts and Mastercard’s integration of fiat and stablecoin rails. In another report, Melinek previewed an interview with Chainlink’s Head of RWAs focused on asset manager and bank approaches to real-world assets.
