Hawaiian Electric will upgrade equipment in the McCully area on Tuesday, July 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The planned work will partially close the eastbound lane of Young Street between Pawaa and Elsie lanes, with parking restrictions in the work zone. Additionally, Elsie Lane may be temporarily blocked during the operation. The utility urges drivers to use caution and seek alternate routes while crews complete the upgrade. Details are being clarified.

Hawaiian Electric has recently scheduled similar work in other areas. The utility announced a lane closure on Kapiolani Blvd for utility pole upgrades in support of Kuilei Place condo construction on June 26, as reported here. Hawaiian Electric has also set out its Hawaii Powered initiative, aiming for 100 percent local clean energy.
