Highlights

  • SB/USX continues to trade below key moving averages, confirming persistent bearish momentum across short, medium, and long-term timeframes.
  • Bearish signals dominate technical indicators, with momentum and oscillator readings reinforcing a strong downside bias while intraday lows persist.
  • Expected trading range over the next 2–3 days is USX14.47–USX14.66, with a high likelihood of further declines if support at USX14.47 breaks.

Bearish bias confirmed as selling dominates amid oversold signals

On the hourly chart, SB is positioned below the MA-20 at USX14.66, MA-50 at USX14.75, and the long-term MA-200 at USX14.62. The Ichimoku Kijun sits at USX14.72 and serves as immediate resistance. RSI records 39.42, indicating a sell signal, while MACD is also in sell territory. ADX and Stoch RSI are both neutral, with CCI showing the contract as oversold. Bull/Bear Power and the Awesome Oscillator continue to favor sellers.

Limited upside as technical barriers contain downside momentum

SB is expected to remain within a USX14.47–USX14.66 band over the next 2–3 days, with the probability of an upward move assessed as very low. Downside momentum is likely to persist unless a break above the USX14.72 resistance occurs, which could trigger covering. Conversely, if SB falls below USX14.47, further declines are likely to accelerate. The baseline scenario favors prices remaining rangebound given the present technical configuration.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, Traders Union expert, sees sugar (SB) stuck below key moving averages with technicals tilting negative. He notes that momentum remains with the sellers and no external macro factors are shifting the sentiment right now. The analyst believes any upside is likely capped without a break above USX14.72, while a breach below USX14.47 could intensify losses in the short term. "I expect sugar to stay heavy, but a sustained break above USX14.72 would be needed to change the picture," he says.

Earlier, analysts noted that sugar's technical setup was tilting bearish, with downside risks favored amid persistent momentum weakness. The present consolidation below key technical levels reinforces this outlook, making any decisive move through immediate resistance a critical signal to monitor for a shift in trend.
