Asia-Pacific education deals down sharply

Private equity and venture capital investment in education services across Asia-Pacific saw a dramatic decline in 2025.

According to S&P Global, the total value of deals in the sector fell by 87 percent year over year to 240 million dollars, with the number of transactions dropping to just 35. This significant retreat signals a challenging environment for education-focused investment in the region.

Other sectors in the region have faced contrasting trends. In 2025, EU pork exports rose as China and the UK increased demand, despite mounting tariff challenges. S&P Global also reported that India’s fertilizer stocks remained secure, defying supply concerns tied to Middle East conflict.
