According to the company, an 80kW output delivers a 'meaningful charge' that balances speed and broader accessibility, compared to ultra-fast charging models. This approach aims to help businesses monetize parking spaces before customers even enter their stores, offering a distinct advantage in customer experience and operational efficiency. The new charging strategy may influence how small businesses think about integrating EV infrastructure into their properties.
ChargePoint previously launched the Home Flex charger with 50 amp adjustable power and dual connector options for home EV charging here. The company also introduced a NEMA 3R-rated Home Flex model designed for all-weather durability and safety here. These earlier products focused on residential charging before the new strategy for small businesses.
