Drone as first responder strategy draws law enforcement attention at SoundThinking conference session
SoundThinking attracted a standing-room-only audience at the National Sheriffs Association Conference, as attendees engaged in a session focused on drone technology as first responders.
Frank Peck, Chief Pilot of the Omaha Police Department, joined SoundThinking to share operational details of how Omaha PD utilizes drones for rapid situational awareness in emergency responses. The session, titled 'From Gunfire Alert to Aerial Intelligence,' explored how integrating aerial platforms improves police effectiveness and safety. The event underscored the growing law enforcement interest in deploying advanced technology tools to support public safety.
SoundThinking recently partnered with the Jackson Police Department to deploy technology and data strategies for improved safety outcomes, according to a company announcement. The company also reported that its ShotSpotter system enabled authorities in Niterói, Brazil to accelerate homicide investigation response through real-time alerts earlier this year. These developments highlight ongoing adoption of SoundThinking’s technologies by law enforcement agencies.
