MANTRA halts blockchain and freezes all transactions
MANTRA is having problems again.

MANTRA Chain, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on real-world asset tokenization, has halted its network due to an unspecified incident. The project team said on X that it stopped the blockchain as a precaution while the incident is being investigated.

All transactions and network endpoints are currently frozen.

Due to the network shutdown, users are unable to deposit or withdraw funds through MANTRA. Developers have advised users to refrain from making any transactions until further information is released.

What happened to MANTRA

The cause of the disruption has not yet been identified, and there is no timeline for restoring the network. MANTRA’s official status page says its engineering and security teams are investigating the incident together with external partners. Exchanges and other ecosystem participants have been advised to temporarily suspend operations involving the project’s native token.

Following the incident, the MANTRA token has fallen 10% over the past 24 hours to $0.004406.

The incident comes amid the project’s ongoing restructuring. In June, MANTRA announced that its strategic investor, Inveniam Capital Partners, would acquire the platform. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.

The project previously suffered a sharp token collapse in 2025, after which the company began restructuring and cut part of its workforce in January 2026.

In hackers’ crosshairs

Cryptocurrency companies are increasingly becoming targets for hackers. According to Blockaid, the number of confirmed hacks reached a record high in the first half of 2026, with total losses exceeding $1 billion. Attackers are targeting not only smart contracts but are also increasingly using phishing, social engineering, and compromised employee devices.

Artificial intelligence is becoming an additional tool for hackers. It allows them to find vulnerabilities in code faster, automate attack preparation, and create more convincing phishing messages and deepfakes. Chainalysis notes that AI is already helping attackers scale the search for weaknesses in smart contracts, while AI-enabled scams generated 4.5 times more revenue in 2025 than traditional schemes.

As a reminder, Binance supported the MANTRA token swap and redenomination at a 1:4 ratio.
