Token unlock concerns and sector rotation intensify bearish sentiment

Market sentiment around Sui is driven by anticipation of an upcoming token unlock, an event set to increase the circulating supply and fueling concerns about further downside risk if support is not regained. The shift of investor focus toward utility-driven blockchain projects is also weighing on activity. Trading volume saw a recent boost, but no major Sui-specific regulatory actions or product events have been reported.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, believes that Sui’s trading activity remains subdued, with persistent selling pressure highlighted by the token’s position below all major moving averages. He notes market sentiment is cautious, driven by anticipation of the upcoming token unlock, which is fueling concerns about further downside as circulating supply is set to increase. In Kharitonov's view, current trading volumes do little to offset the cautious investor outlook, especially with no positive regulatory or project-specific catalysts in play. "Given the upcoming unlock and weak sentiment, I’d advise caution and careful attention to demand trends before considering new exposure," he says.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees Sui’s price action as a reflection of broader macro and fundamental headwinds impacting utility-driven blockchain projects amid increased supply concerns. He highlights that the absence of new regulatory developments or institutional adoption prospects keeps buyers on the sidelines, and warns that the forthcoming token unlock adds to supply overhang. "Macro uncertainty and lack of institutional momentum suggest any recovery for SUI will likely remain muted unless market conditions change substantially," Karapetjanc concludes.

Jainam Mehta, market strategist, takes a notably skeptical stance, underscoring that Sui’s technical landscape and news flow both suggest further downside is likely given macro pressures and token-specific risks. Mehta emphasizes the particularly low probability of an upward breakout in the coming days. "With little to support a reversal and downside risk elevated by macro and internal triggers, I see limited rationale for optimism here," warns Mehta.

Bearish momentum prevails as technical indicators signal continued weakness

SUI is exhibiting considerable weakness below all primary moving averages: MA-20 at $2.6361, MA-50 at $3,164.90, and MA-200 at $3,311.30. The nearest support aligns at $2.1349 (Kijun/Ichimoku), with resistance at $2.6361 (MA-20). The daily MACD signals a strong sell and the ADX shows trend strength, though directional indications vary across timeframes. RSI is sluggish at 40.53, indicating bearish momentum, and Stoch RSI sits in overbought territory but is contradicted by a neutral CCI and oversold signals elsewhere. BBP and the Awesome Oscillator confirm prevailing sell pressure, and high volatility reinforces a bearish technical stance.

Previously it was noted that persistent bearish pressure continued to weigh on Sui, with analysts highlighting the strong prevailing trend as shown in the daily MACD. Momentum indicators pointed to a robust downtrend and ongoing cautious investor sentiment.
