Vietnam deals and institutional inflows boost optimism amid HQ shift

Boeing has secured major agreements with Vietnamese airlines, highlighted by nearly $30 billion in deals including the sale of 40 787 Dreamliners to Sun PhuQuoc Airways and 50 737-8 MAX aircraft to Vietnam Airlines. The company also announced the relocation of its Defense, Space & Security headquarters from Arlington, Virginia, to St. Louis, Missouri, while retaining its global headquarters in Arlington. On the institutional side, CenterBook Partners LP and Waycross Partners LLC have both increased holdings in the company.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees a bearish undertone in Boeing’s technical setup. He notes the persistent short-term pressure under MA-20 and the absence of clear buyer momentum intraday. Kharitonov is not impressed by institutional inflows or headline deals, as volatility remains elevated and the Awesome Oscillator stays flat. He believes that unless $241.66 is reclaimed, downside to $228.97 or below remains plausible. "A cautious stance is warranted — recent news does little to offset weak price action and mixed momentum," he states.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, recognizes the positive structural shifts in Boeing after major Vietnamese partnerships. He points out that robust institutional accumulation supports the case for sustained recovery. Karapetjanc highlights that despite minor volatility, medium- and long-term averages provide a strong upward foundation. He forecasts a likely bullish breakout, with the newsflow and indicator alignment favoring further growth. "With strong deals and positive momentum, the bullish structure remains intact for BA," he affirms.

Jainam Mehta, market strategist, sees an indecisive tactical moment for BA. He underlines that momentum signals are mixed while volatility creeps upward on cautious sentiment. Mehta finds that a potential breakout above $241.66 could shift the bias, but a break below $228.97 might invite sharper declines. "This divergence in momentum and sentiment may offer contrarian entry opportunities on either side," he says.

Mixed momentum signals as intraday selling tempers bullish indicators

Momentum indicators provide mixed signals for BA: the MACD on the daily chart is strongly bullish, while the ADX gives only moderate support for buying at 30.51. Oscillators show divergences — the RSI is neutral to slightly positive, the Stoch RSI points to mild oversold conditions, and the CCI is near neutral. Bull/Bear Power suggests buyers have not taken control intraday, and the Awesome Oscillator is neutral on the daily timeframe. BA opened with a small gap down from $238.80 to $235.37, with the last price of $233.66 near today’s low of $233.57, signaling moderate volatility and ongoing pressure after the open. Intraday sentiment remains cautious as price action pushes lower, despite momentum’s mixed-to-positive bias.

Previously it was reported that Boeing trades just below its 20-day moving average but maintains a solid position above the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, underscoring short-term selling pressure within an overall bullish medium- and long-term trend. Momentum signals remain mixed, as MACD and ADX point to continued upside while a neutral RSI and several overbought or bearish oscillators highlight immediate resistance near $241.43 and dynamic support at the MA-50.
