Canada inflation hits 3.2 percent high

Courtney Theriault reports that Canada experienced a 3.2 percent inflation jump last month, marking the highest increase since late 2023.

According to Theriault, Alberta saw the largest regional rise at 3.7 percent. Economists attribute this surge to higher oil prices, noting that current U.S. President Donald Trump's war has driven costs up broadly and not only at gas stations.

Theriault has previously examined how money's value changes over time. In a separate report, she found that $400 in 2006 would equate to $615 in 2026. She also noted that $100 in 2026 is projected to be worth $65 in 2006 dollars.
