Shay Boloor: AI shifts Micron memory from commodity to strategic resource
AI drives Micron memory long-term demand

Shay Boloor highlights that customers of Micron are increasingly viewing memory as a strategic resource due to the impact of artificial intelligence. According to Boloor, this shift means customers are no longer making casual memory purchases but instead are securing supplies years in advance with deposits, multi-year agreements, and acceptance of minimum commitments.

Boloor recently noted that NBIS will invest over $9 billion for an AI cloud project in France with 240MW capacity, one of the region’s largest deployments (article). In a separate update, he reported IREN shares rising above $65 after boosted ARR guidance and a $1.6 billion DELL agreement for AI systems in Texas centers (article). These developments highlight significant capital commitments toward AI infrastructure.
