Sui mainnet hits 6 million TPS milestone

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer at Mysten Labs, the company behind the Sui blockchain, reports that the Sui mainnet has surpassed 6 million transactions per second (TPS) with the implementation of programmable lightning tunnels.

This development highlights increased transaction capabilities on the Sui blockchain network.

Abiodun previously revealed that confidential transfers using range proofs are planned for the Sui blockchain, aiming to secure private transactions, according to a recent announcement. He also noted that Sui DeFi will feature 24/7 trading for Asian equities, with a waitlist open for users, as detailed in a separate update. These developments come as Mysten Labs continues to expand the Sui network’s infrastructure and product offerings.
