Miner positions on BIP110 are less aligned than previous forks, Stephan Livera notes
Miner response to BIP110 diverges

Stephan Livera, head of education and podcast host at Swan Bitcoin, stated that comparing 2017 miner behaviors to the current context for BIP110 may be misleading.

Livera pointed out that while past forks saw swift action by miners at deadlines, the current BIP110 proposal holds only about 1% of total hashrate, with much of that segment not supporting aggressive moves.

Earlier this year, Livera introduced a Bitcoin Node Cost Tracker and dashboard as community debate intensified over spam on the network. He has also explained that Bitcoin’s function as money means spam cannot be eliminated. These positions have shaped his recent commentary on network proposals.
