BIP-110 does not create complete firewall with ongoing workarounds, Stephan Livera argues
BIP-110 firewall claim debated post v30

Stephan Livera, head of education and podcast host at Swan Bitcoin, challenges the argument that BIP-110 is essential after the v30 upgrade.

Livera contends that data was already embeddable, workarounds are both practical and ongoing, and that a targeted temporary soft fork does not provide the security firewall supporters assert.

Livera previously introduced a Bitcoin Node Cost Tracker and dashboard as debate over spam concerns intensified in the crypto sector. He has also stated that Bitcoin’s function as money means eliminating spam from the network is not feasible. These perspectives frame his current stance on protocol changes after the v30 upgrade.
