eToro drives tokenized future with blockchain-backed stocks and 24/5 access
eToro has reaffirmed its commitment to a tokenized financial future, announcing major updates to its trading platform during the global webinar “eToro Unlocked: Trade Without Boundaries.” The investment firm unveiled plans to extend trading hours and launch tokenized U.S. equities, further solidifying its long-standing belief in blockchain as the foundation for next-generation financial services.

CEO and Co-founder Yoni Assia emphasized that eToro sees blockchain not just as a technology but as a driving force behind a historic shift in global wealth. “We’ve been long-time believers in a tokenized future,” Assia stated. “New regulations, such as MiCA in Europe and the passing of the Genius Act in the U.S., create new opportunities to tokenize real-world assets into legally backed and regulated digital assets.”
New trading features: 24/5 access and spot-quoted futures
Among the key platform improvements is the expansion of 24/5 trading for 100 of the most in-demand U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs. This allows traders to respond to market events in real time, beyond traditional trading hours. Assia noted that flexibility is central to user experience: “We want to offer our global users the ability to trade when it’s convenient for them.”
Additionally, eToro introduced spot-quoted futures in partnership with CME Group. These contracts, now live in select European regions, combine familiar spot pricing with longer-term expiries, offering an innovative approach to futures trading designed to appeal to a broader investor base.
Tokenized equities as a step toward DeFi integration
At the heart of eToro’s roadmap lies the launch of tokenized equities. Building on previous success with tokenized commodities such as GOLDX and SLVX, eToro plans to issue U.S.-listed stocks as ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. These blockchain-based assets will be redeemable on eToro and transferable into the DeFi ecosystem.
“Our goal is to tokenize every asset on eToro, starting with stocks, enabling users to move tokenized assets onto the blockchain and integrate them into the broader DeFi ecosystem,” said Assia.
With this ambitious roadmap, eToro is not only expanding market access—it is also redefining what it means to invest in a borderless, blockchain-based economy.
