Icovamenib GLP-1 therapy combination evaluated in Biomea Fusion academic study — Biomea Fusion studies diabetes combo

Biomea Fusion has formed a research collaboration with the University of Leicester and the Leicester Diabetes Centre to assess the combination of icovamenib with semaglutide in the OPAL adaptive platform trial.

The study aims to determine if adding icovamenib to standard GLP-1 therapy could enhance treatment outcomes for patients. Researchers will evaluate the efficacy of this dual approach, potentially paving the way for new options in diabetes management.

Biomea Fusion recently visited clinical study sites supporting Phase II trials of icovamenib for type 2 diabetes, advancing research efforts earlier this year. The company is also set to present icovamenib research for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes at the ADA 86th Scientific Sessions in New Orleans next month.
