Nano Nuclear, Hyundai advance KRONOS MMR

Nano Nuclear Energy has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Engineering to advance the execution of the KRONOS MMR project and plan for future fleet deployments.

The collaboration leverages Hyundai Engineering’s more than a decade of familiarity with the KRONOS MMR technology and marks a step forward in accelerating the project’s development and deployment.

Nano Nuclear Energy is currently advancing the KRONOS MMR's regulatory review with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, targeting initial construction by late 2027, according to a previous company update. The company’s subsidiary, STS, was also recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for its nuclear transport projects, as reported earlier this year. These steps are part of Nano Nuclear’s ongoing efforts to develop its nuclear technology platform.
