Bitcoin price jumps 5% after Jamie Dimon critical remarks
Bitcoin’s price action has sparked interest as it recovered sharply from an eight-week low of $89,500. After dipping below the critical $92,000 support level on January 13, Bitcoin staged a dramatic rebound, climbing back to $94,000 and forming a bullish doji candlestick on the 4-hour chart.
Currently trading at $95,500 in the European session, Bitcoin’s recovery is testing key technical levels that could shape its near-term direction.
The rebound follows a turbulent period due to critical remarks from JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon. He reiterated his skepticism about Bitcoin, citing concerns over its use in illicit activities and lack of intrinsic value. Dimon’s comments coincided with Bitcoin’s decline to $89,000, but market participants quickly stepped in, driving a 5% recovery in its value.

Bitcoin price outlook: 100 EMA limits further upside
Technical indicators point to a potential shift in momentum. The 4-hour RSI has climbed above 50, entering bullish territory, while the price currently hovers near the 100 EMA on the same chart. This EMA is acting as a barrier, capping Bitcoin’s recovery. A break above this level could open the door for a test of the $100,000 psychological resistance which is a key hurdle for further upside.
Despite the positive momentum, Bitcoin’s price action will need to overcome skepticism and technical challenges to maintain its upward trajectory. The $92,000 level, which previously acted as support, now serves as a crucial area to watch should prices retrace. With $100,000 in sight, Bitcoin's ability to break above the 100 EMA and sustain gains will be pivotal. The coming sessions will determine whether Bitcoin’s recent recovery can transform into a broader rally or face renewed resistance.
Bitcoin surged past $100,000 last week following MicroStrategy's announcement but quickly lost momentum. Bitcoin price trading range narrows to 2% as RSI signals downside.
