Highlights

  • EUR/COP trades below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages, indicating bearish momentum across all timeframes.
  • Momentum indicators such as MACD, ADX, RSI, Stochastic RSI, CCI, BBP, and AO confirm persistent selling pressure and oversold conditions.
  • The expected range for the next five days is COL$3,515 to COL$3,596, with over 80% probability of a further downside move.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, highlights the persistent bearish bias in EUR/COP as the pair trades well below all its key moving averages. He notes that the oversold signals from multiple momentum indicators show sellers still dominate, with any intraday rebounds lacking technical support. The expert points to the absence of fresh news flows, which further weighs on sentiment and limits upside catalysts. Kharitonov stresses that downside risks remain high, especially with price sitting just above strong support levels. "Without a shift in market momentum or a break above COL$3,591, recovery attempts are likely to remain shallow," he cautions.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, focuses on potential opportunities despite the current bearish trend. He sees the ongoing price stabilization and recent intraday gains as an early sign of latent demand returning near oversold territory. The analyst contends that, if COL$3,591 is breached, a swift move toward COL$3,596 is possible. Karapetjanc emphasizes that such price setups can provide actionable bullish opportunities for patient traders. "This market offers a chance for upside plays if buyers sustain momentum above resistance," he asserts.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, sees little reason for optimism in EUR/COP. He notes that sellers control the market, and technical pressure is reinforced by a lack of positive macro or sentiment drivers. Dele emphasizes that, with downside momentum confirmed and economic news absent, the immediate risk continues to be lower. "Without a clear reversal signal, any bounce should be viewed with skepticism," he says.

Persistent selling pressure as momentum confirms resistance dominance

EUR/COP is trading below its 20-day (COL$3,642), 50-day (COL$3,647), and 200-day (COL$3,956) moving averages, reflecting continued downside pressure across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons. The bearish alignment of the 50- and 200-day averages signals that sellers remain in control, with the near-term ceiling at COL$3,591 and the floor set at COL$3,559. Momentum readings remain negative, as the MACD and ADX both indicate downside momentum. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is low at 36.84 and signals a sell, while the Stochastic RSI is at 0, suggesting oversold conditions. CCI and Bull/Bear Power also point toward selling pressure, with the BBP indicating that sellers dominate and suggesting an oversold market. The Awesome Oscillator (AO) confirms the ongoing bearish momentum. The pair opened nearly flat and has risen COL$18.06 (0.51%), with the price now near the day's high. Intraday volatility stands at 0.93%. The upturn after a quiet open is not confirmed by underlying momentum indicators, pointing to continued caution despite the price recovery.

Earlier, analysts noted that EUR/COP was entrenched in a sustained bearish trend, with sellers maintaining control. The latest price action reinforces this view, and traders should monitor for a break below COL$3,559, which could trigger additional downside toward the next key support at COL$3,515.
