Gunjan Banerji highlights that the earnings outlook for the S&P 500 is becoming increasingly reliant on a small group of companies.
According to Banerji, around a quarter of S&P 500 earnings are generated by its top five firms, underscoring the growing concentration of profit contributions within the index.
Earlier this month, Banerji reported that the S&P 500 rose 12 percent from its March 30 low, as investors pointed to renewed optimism in markets here. In a separate note, she highlighted that hedge funds saw record inflows of $90 billion over two quarters, with total assets reaching a new high here. These developments come as focus intensifies on the concentration of earnings within leading S&P 500 companies.
