EU, Kazakhstan agree on €150 million loan

Ursula von der Leyen announced the signing of four major agreements focused on connectivity, innovation, and economic ties between the European Union and Kazakhstan.

The announced agreements include a horizontal aviation agreement aligning air traffic rights and a €150 million framework loan aimed at upgrading key road links along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. Additional agreements in the field of connectivity and innovation were also signed.

Von der Leyen has recently highlighted several major EU financial arrangements. In June, she pointed to Ukraine’s parliamentary ratification of documents unlocking a €90 billion support loan. Earlier this month, she confirmed the swift delivery of €1.5 billion in support for Egypt's 2024 reform agenda. These steps reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen economic partnerships across regions.
