Robinhood Chain surpasses Ethereum in daily app revenue as memecoins take over
Memecoins push Robinhood Chain past Ethereum

Apps on Robinhood Chain generated approximately $2.66 million in revenue over 24 hours, surpassing Ethereum and nearly every other blockchain by this metric. Memecoins were the main driver of activity, with users launching a record 22,600 tokens on the network on August 30.

According to DefiLlama, Robinhood Chain ranked second only to Solana, which generated $5.07 million in app revenue. The network's total was roughly twice that of Ethereum and six times that of Base.

The figure refers specifically to revenue that applications operating on the blockchain earn from users, rather than revenue generated by Robinhood itself. Memecoin trading service GMGN, token launch platform Pons and decentralized exchange Uniswap accounted for approximately 88% of the total.

Robinhood Chain sets transaction record

On August 30, the network processed 5.52 million transactions, the highest daily total since its launch. By comparison, daily transactions stood well below 1 million in early July.

Trading volume on Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchanges reached approximately $875 million. Uniswap accounted for most of the total, with its latest version generating around $432 million in volume and the previous version another $357 million.

At the same time, users launched approximately 22,600 new tokens through Pons in a single day, more than 40% above the previous day's figure. The platform allows users to create and begin trading assets directly through a crypto wallet.

Most of the new assets are speculative tokens, including numerous memecoins. The segment is therefore driving a significant share of activity on Robinhood Chain despite the network's initial focus on tokenizing traditional financial assets.

Memecoins take the lead over tokenized stocks

Robinhood launched its Ethereum-compatible network on July 1, 2026, with tokenized stocks positioned as one of its primary use cases. The infrastructure is designed to bring traditional assets onto the blockchain and enable them to trade in an on-chain environment.

However, just two weeks after the launch, memecoins began accounting for a significant share of network activity. The number of speculative tokens grew rapidly, while tokenized stocks represented only a small portion of the assets being used on the network.

The trend strengthened as the broader crypto market recovered. Cash Cat, for example, one of the largest memecoins on Robinhood Chain, more than doubled in price in the week through August 25 as traders showed increased interest in smaller tokens.

Meanwhile, Robinhood is expanding its crypto business beyond its own network. In August, the company began offering digital asset trading to eligible users in the United Kingdom through Bitstamp's infrastructure.

Earlier, we reported on Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin's proposals for further scaling the network. The debate over increasing blockchain throughput continues amid largely unchanged Ethereum price action.
