FPS horn ignitor by Babcock & Wilcox targets enhanced safety and consistency in boiler operations
Babcock & Wilcox unveils FPS ignitor

Babcock & Wilcox has announced the release of its FPS horn ignitor designed specifically for corner-fired boiler applications.

The new system aims to enhance flame stability, fuel efficiency, and operational longevity. Key features include a self-cleaning PAI mechanism, supporting maintenance and safety improvements, as well as a stronger and more consistent ignition process crucial for industrial boilers. The company positions the FPS horn ignitor as a technological improvement supporting more reliable and cost-effective boiler operations.

Earlier this year, Babcock & Wilcox launched its BrightLoop chemical looping technology for producing low carbon hydrogen, steam, or syngas from multiple fuels. The company has also sponsored and led sessions at major international biomass and boiler conferences. These activities reflect its ongoing involvement in the boiler and industrial energy sector.
