TON Foundation launches stablecoin payment processing for businesses in Asia with Banxa
The Open Network Foundation (TON Foundation) has announced a partnership with crypto infrastructure provider Banxa to expand stablecoin adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region. The companies aim to simplify digital asset payments for B2B, C2B, and cross-border transactions.
Under the collaboration, businesses will be able to use The Open Network (TON) blockchain for settlements and international transfers. The integration combines Banxa’s fiat on- and off-ramp services with TON’s blockchain infrastructure, according to the foundation.
Focus on APAC and cross-border payments
Banxa, part of OSL Group, operates under licenses across Asia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Through the partnership, TON gains access to a global payment network and merchant infrastructure to support companies across the APAC region.According to Nikola Plecas, vice president of payments at TON Foundation, the collaboration is aimed at creating real commercial use cases for TON for businesses and developers worldwide.
Following the launch of TON Pay
The announcement comes just days after the launch of TON Pay, a payment SDK for Telegram Mini Apps. The solution enables merchants to accept Toncoin and USDT directly within the Telegram messaging app.The foundation says transaction fees average below $0.01, with settlement times under one second. The product targets Telegram’s audience of approximately 1.1 billion monthly active users.
OSL Group, which acquired Banxa as part of its expansion into payments, raised $200 million in equity financing in January 2026. A year earlier, it secured $300 million — at the time the largest publicly disclosed equity raise in Asia’s digital asset sector.
The TON–Banxa partnership highlights how blockchain projects are pushing deeper into the real economy by focusing on stablecoins and fast cross-border payments for businesses.
Earlier, we reported that TON Foundation hired a former Visa executive.
