Alphabet sees generative AI revenue up 800 percent and cloud profit triple, Anna Wong notes
Anna Wong, industry influencer, highlights significant growth in Alphabet's financial results, particularly in its AI and cloud businesses.
According to Wong, revenue from generative AI products such as Gemini and Vertex AI skyrocketed nearly 800 percent year over year. Meanwhile, Alphabet's cloud operating income tripled year over year to $6.6 billion, surpassing the $4.8 billion estimate. The company's cloud operating margin also expanded from 17.8 percent a year ago.
Wong has recently analyzed inflation trends in separate areas. She noted a surge in inflation linked to the Iran conflict and its effect on consumer price indexes in a previous report. In another article, she reported that core PCE inflation was running 60 basis points above core CPI, a rare occurrence in data going back to 1959, according to historical measures.
