Jon Erlichman, anchor and financial journalist at Bloomberg TV, shares the annual count of trillion dollar companies from 2017 to 2026.
According to Erlichman, there were no trillion dollar companies in 2017, but this figure grew steadily to 2 in 2018, 4 in 2019, 5 in 2020, and 7 from 2021 to 2022. The number increased to 8 in 2023, 11 in 2024, 12 in 2025, and reached 17 by 2026. These figures illustrate the rise in large-cap companies over the past decade.
Erlichman has previously highlighted other major corporate milestones. He reported that Amazon shares climbed 9,000 percent since 1999. In a separate post, he noted a rise in SpaceX’s valuation from $1 billion to $1.77 trillion in 16 years. These snapshots provide context for the recent growth in trillion dollar companies.
