According to IGM FX, the Professional Account is intended for clients who can demonstrate greater market understanding and risk awareness. Although professional clients normally lose certain regulatory protections, the broker says it will continue offering Best Execution and access to Key Information Documents, despite not being legally obligated to do so. This indicates a hybrid approach aimed at balancing flexibility with transparency.

Eligibility criteria and what sets professional status apart

To qualify for professional classification, clients must meet at least two of the following three criteria:

• Trading Activity: Execution of significant-size trades, averaging 10 transactions per quarter over the last four quarters.

• Portfolio Size: A financial portfolio valued at €500,000 or more, including cash deposits or financial instruments.

• Professional Experience: A minimum of one year of work experience in the financial or CFD markets.

Professional clients may receive expanded leverage options and tailored trading conditions, though they must be prepared for a reduced safety net compared with standard retail accounts. IGM FX encourages prospective applicants to carefully review all requirements before applying.
