Hawaiian Electric restores Kaneohe power

Hawaiian Electric has restored electricity to a portion of its Kaneohe customers following an outage reported this afternoon.

The company stated that some customers will remain without power until repair crews can safely complete their work. Hawaiian Electric clarified that the disruption is not due to a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. The company thanked impacted customers on Oahu for their patience while restoration efforts are ongoing.

Hawaiian Electric has recently started repairs and infrastructure upgrades in downtown Honolulu and Chinatown, with an emphasis on supporting local businesses during Small Business Week. Earlier this month, the company recognized director Christian Whitney as Women Small Business Champion of the Year. The awards and improvements reflect Hawaiian Electric’s ongoing involvement within the Oahu community.
